Not THE movie…..obviously. This is a story with the happy ending, a fairytale in the making.

We approached this shoot with the intention to make snaps that will communicate our subjects’ personalities, to make this story more inspiring and candid.

So, after learning that our happy couple, Natalie, a journalist, and Terry, who works in IT, are huge hiking enthusiasts and enjoy long walks quite often, the decision to swipe concrete streets of London with dreamy landscapes of Lake District was a no-brainer.

It took us five hours to reach Keswick, situated near the lake of Derwentwater and the centre of outdoor activities. There we met with our newlyweds-to-be who, before the shoot, stayed in Manchester to watch football matches. It all goes to show you how relaxed and laid-back they were, comfortable with each other and with us, which really added to a seamless experience we were hoping for. It made us think that we should suggest to all our happy couples to engage in a common activity, something they both love and share before the photo session, because that chemistry simply pours over and translates perfectly into every photo.

Keswick gave us all that we were hoping for and much more. You can take your pick of the scenery and diverse environments because everywhere you look is so…..picture perfect! From lake and waterfall to town and trails, we took our time to pick locations that truly resonate with our couples’ vision and show the essence of what makes the relationship between Natalie and Terry so powerful.

But this particular shoot wasn’t without its challenges. Did we mention it took place in the winter? The day before, it was snowing heavily and we didn’t know what kind of weather conditions we’ll be facing. Luckily, although it was freezing cold, the sun was shining the whole afternoon offering us the most beautiful natural light any photographer could hope for. Don’t those pics of two of them running through a field of green with mountain slopes and peaks lingering in the background, remind you of something? Feels like a movie scene straight from „Sound of music“ that immediately invites you to sing and dance and let go. And so they did. It was fun and cheerful and, honestly, stunning. Not to mention it helped to keep the cold away. But it seemed like our happy couple didn’t mind the harsh weather and low temperatures… They had each other, celebrating their mutual love and preparing to embark on a lifelong journey together, so there were enough warmth and love to go around.

Our bride-to-be was particularly brave and ready for anything. Was it the slippery hillside, or bare rocks of a waterfall, she faced them with such a faith and determination which left us all in owe. And she did it all in her wedding gown! But those snaps really brought out her sophistication and timeless elegance, she stood out like a glittering jewel against all that rough nature that surrounded her. And how could she not when Terry was right there waiting for her to offer warm hugs and shelter from the cold, like a true knight in shining armour.

We knew that the lakeside photos will be the most to our couple’s liking and we were right… They genuinely enjoyed being so close to the water and it was very easy to capture their excitement and happiness. Pics we took there seem infused with the sunshine as if everything around us, including our couple, was beaming with light. We tried to make every seemingly accidental moment appear intentional and in return, we were rewarded with magical photos. Natalie seems like a fairytale princess who came to life in front of our lense with birds and ducks all around her as if she was talking to them, don’t you think?

We finished our story with Natalie and Terry feeling nostalgic for the time of kings and queens, brave knights and fair maidens because we felt, if just for one afternoon, that we took a walk thought storybook of fantasy and romance. And we feel very grateful for such an experience. We wish nothing but love and happiness to our happy couple, and a day to remember when they wed this coming December in Hong Kong and that their love story will continue on forever.
