The first impression of meeting Hien (The bride-to-be) – a very quiet person. Then, we discovered that the wedding style she looked for is very different from a lot of Vietnamese weddings. The couples’ guests described, Hien and Lewis have definitely raised the bar for Vietnamese weddings.
Hien is an artistic Vietnamese, working in an architectural firm based in London. Lewis is a British, born and bred in the UK. Hien found us on the Internet. She said was attracted by an unusual wedding picture we took before and thought we are very different as we saw things from different angles. (That’s a shot showing the wedding ceremony through a magnifier on the gate at the entrance of the wedding venue.) So we knew from the start she was looking for something different.
We went to Richmond Park for their engagement shoot. Although it just lasted for an hour, we really enjoyed it. And we found that the groom-to-be and bride-to-be love to play too.
Hien looks like an angel fell into Lewis’ arms. Really like this photo. The couple chose it and printed it on a canvas for the wedding reception.
Although there were cultural differences, not all family members could communicate fluently, the wedding went very well. All the guests enjoyed the atmosphere. There is a nice balance of Vietnamese culture and British culture in the wedding. They first had a white wedding at The Bromley Court Hotel, London. Then, they had a Vietnamese style banquet in Yi-Ben, East London.
